The Inventor
Invented by me, Pamela Dale Copello, a flat-haired entrepreneur who was forever attempting to recreate my favorite celebrities' voluminous looks.
The Motivation
As a hair obsessed young girl, I was constantly trying to re-create the fabulous and voluminous hairstyles I would see on my favorite movie stars. But my uncooperative, flat hair would never hold the sexy, voluminous styles that were in vogue. After years of trying to create volume in my hair, frustration turned to innovation, and the idea for Do-dads was born.
The Concept
Ideal for fine, flat, limp hair, Do-dads is a versatile fashion accessory that is made of patented interlocking combs with human hair attached. The combs fit together firmly to hold Do-dads in place on the crown of your head, underneath your real hair, lifting it to create natural-looking volume right where it's needed.
The Inspiration
My original invention was inspired by a set of large combs that I painted to match my hair perfectly. I would place them underneath the hair on the crown of my head to lift it up. To make the combs even more invisible I decided to sew hair from another hairpiece onto the ends, concealing the combs completely and adding even more volume with the extra layer of hair.
Encouraged by Kevyn Aucoin, the late makeup artist to Hollywood's biggest stars, to share my secret with the world, I decided to produce Do-dads for other women. My testing and perfecting took many years. I tried various methods of attaching the hair, different amounts of hair and comb sizes. Once I decided on the ideal comb size, the special interlocking feature of the comb took a whole year to get right, but my persistence paid off. After years of trial and error, Do-dads was perfected.
The Difference
Different than any other products on the market, Do-dads is a fashionable hair accessory and is the only one that creates volume at the crown of the head. Other products only add length to hair, and are often made of synthetic materials. I created Do-dads to not only add volume, but to look natural and blend in with your own hair.
